Cotton Rings
Leer másIn my work, time and rhythm are decisive, so that light and color are essential elements, but also the expansive nature and use of non-pictorial techniques.
This time I reflect on the area of the Exhibition Hall Art Centre Tomás y Valiente in Fuenlabrada. If we look at the ground floor, like a central courtyard it were, we can see the other plants that are also used for the same purpose, exhibition space, are held by columns all giving the largest and main hall of the building.
I would intervene this place with a chromatic play in the elements that hold the plants, columns, making them as sensitive and fragile as to be cotton threads hanging from the ceiling with a transformation of intensity and color reflex, which apparently uphold the weight.
In this case, no artificial lighting project, I intend to talk more in the shadows or holes that produce these lights. As Tanizaki said in “praise of shadows” I want in an atmosphere of recollection and with a fairly dim light, the eye gets used to that rhythm of colors that “hold” plant room to intervene to break the rigidity architecture with a moody and poetic metamorphosis of color. Columns of color, rhythm exercise in which we enter the metaphorical dimension of time that invites us to stop and regain the pleasure of contemplation.

Stuck threads, which insist on a paraminimalista geometry, imposing a grid vision or an artificial glaze, which always reminds us of the power of light, There is a bright universe that glows or flashes after the smooth consistency of the warp, as if this were net or mesh cage which overflows color. “Mariano Navarro; “Omnivorous surface, always in motion”. Mercedes Lara, Moving, Gallery Marita Segovia, Madrid 2005.
In the window of the room, I holed a vinyl that covers the glass in a veiled way, these holes draw circles with colors, aesthetically has to do with the plane of the intervened room. Regarding the disposal of “holes” constitute the map of seismic zones map of the Iberian Peninsula, as a reminder of the continuous movement, the main theme of Time
